ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY:
Child & Family Studies (CFS) is one of seven departments and schools within the College of Behavioral & Community Sciences (CBCS) at the University of South Florida (USF). Organized into three research divisions and four academic programs that work synergistically, CFS currently has approximately 275 faculty and staff members. During FY23, CFS is managing a portfolio of over 75 federal and non-federal contracts and grants totaling $78 million. Our research divisions include the Florida Center for Inclusive Communities (FCIC), Child and Family Behavioral Health (CFBH), and the Rightpath Research and Innovation Center. CFS’s four academic programs are Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Child and Adolescent Behavioral Health (CABH), Clinical Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling (CRMHC), and Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT). Six graduate certificates and one undergraduate certificate are also offered.
CFS efforts are consistent with the CBCS mission of combining knowledge gained through the behavioral sciences with knowledge gained from the community. CFS faculty, staff, and students, who are well immersed in the local community as well as state and national efforts, are deeply connected to the college's focus of Creating Healthy Communities. POSITION SUMMARY: This position serves as the marketing and communications manager for The National Center for Pyramid Model Innovations (NCPMI) funded by the Office of Special Education. The primary objective of the national center is to provide technical support and dissemination of tools, guides, materials, and training events to states, local programs, and professionals for the sustainability, scale-up and high fidelity use of the Pyramid Model for supporting social emotional competence in infants and young children. The Communication and Marketing Manager is responsible for all marketing, dissemination, and communication activities for the program; and provides supervision to the communications team comprising of the conference coordinator and a graphic designer.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for development, branding, and design of all products for the national center including, but not limited to, fact sheets, implementation guides, training modules, videos, research summaries, infographics, posters, materials for teachers and families, and data tools. Development of the products includes managing translations to Spanish and captioning of all videos.
Develops and maintains the comprehensive national center website that includes a searchable index of over 500 products, multi-media products with animation, instructional technologies, and user-friendly guidance documents. Develops mobile event applications. Establishes Section 508 and WCAG compliance for ADA accessibility of the website and all digital resources.
Responsible for the dissemination of all products. Develops and implements a marketing and communication plan that facilitates high national and international visibility of the center programs, events, services, projects and publications. Writes and disseminates a quarterly electronic newsletter. Facilitates the publicity of the center's national conference. Oversees a quarterly webinar series of 16 webinars per year. Designs and hosts center exhibits at national conferences. Conducts social marketing and collaborates with University and Community stakeholders in developing a web presence that aligns with campus-wide branding goals while also meeting funder's requirements.
Trains, supervises, plans and evaluates the work of two positions: 1) graphics designer and 2) conference coordinator. Provides guidance, technical assistance and ongoing performance feedback to staff. Assists staff in identifying priority activities, strategies for completion, and guides problem-solving when confronting challenges. Guides the team in their compliance with University branding and legal requirements, as well copyrights and licenses.
Liaisons with the national center faculty from multiple universities to ensure fidelity of messaging across programs and in the development of their products
Performs other duties as assigned.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM: This position requires a Bachelor's degree in communication, marketing, public relations, technical writing, digital media, or related field, with 4 years of experience in related positions; or a Master's degree in the fields listed above and 2 years of experience
FLSB1310 Equivalency:
4 years of directly relevant experience may be substituted for bachelor's degree.
6 years of directly relevant experience may be substituted for master's degree.
PREFERRED: Master's degree in communication or marketing. Experience and extensive portfolio in graphic design of products that range from policy papers to materials used by early educators and families. Experience in the design of non-profit organization websites that are heavily engaged in dissemination and meet accessibility guidelines. Experience in conference coordination and the use of conference planning applications for attendee and speaker hubs.
