We're hiring a contractor to make line and copy edits to daily articles centered on the digital transformation of the banking and insurance industries.

The Role & Team
EMARKETER's Briefings are a suite of subscription newsletters authored by industry analysts, reaching tens of thousands of business professionals, primarily within the marketing and advertising industries, every day.
We're looking for a seasoned editor to perform line and copy edits to our short-form articles about innovations within the banking and insurance industries through May 31, 2025.
This is a part-time temporary role working 10 hours per week with an hourly rate of $45.
Key Responsibilities
- Be available to work from 1-4pm on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays to perform line and copy edits on 3 short-form banking articles (300-400 words each) for inclusion in our triweekly Banking Innovation Briefing.
- Edit an additional 4 short-form insurance articles (300-400 words each) for inclusion in our monthly Insurance Briefing.
- Improve the narrative structure and readability of short-form content.
- Enforce the EMARKETER editorial guidelines, editing for style/tone, high-level substance, argument, and copy/grammar.
- Ensure content is error free.
Desired Skills & Experience
- 3+ years' experience writing and/or editing professionally in a newsroom or journalism environment, or equivalent experience in news editing, reporting and writing.
- Exceptional editing, time management, and communication skills.
- Basic understanding of how to use data in storytelling.
- Experience with data visualization is a plus.
