Position Summary
The Marketing Manager plays a critical role in crafting and sharing the stories of the Woodbine brands that fall within their remit. After quickly gaining a deep understanding of assigned brands, the Marketing Manager will lead best-in-class storytelling across all digital channels and physical touchpoints, plus develop and execute events, activations, and partnerships in unique ways that accelerate each brand’s awareness, affinity, and positive customer engagement. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, proactive, strategic, passionate about building brands and experiences, and exhibits a positive and curious nature. The Marketing Manager is accountable to – and works in lockstep with – the Senior Manager and reports directly to the VP, Marketing Communications. This is a role designed for individuals who are early in their careers. We expect applicants to have some relevant background and experience in marketing, communications, and/or a comparable field.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all digital channels (B2B and B2C), including website, newsletter, social media (Facebook, Instagram, X, and TikTok), and LinkedIn, respectively
- Develop and executive content strategy for each assigned brand
- Shoot and edit content (e.g., iPhone or camera-shot photo and video assets, graphics-based assets using readily available tools like Canva, etc.)
- Work with agencies and other content creators (e.g., advanced graphics and animation resources) to bolster output and ensure brand alignment
- Maintain a publishing calendar and posting schedule that surfaces content during peak engagement times, trialing timeframes to ensure optimal performance
- Hone brand voice through quality copywriting and be a guardian of brand guidelines
- Respond to comments and direct messages across channels, monitoring all daily
- Create and publish a monthly or weekly newsletter
- Aid in concepting advertising assets and leverage paid media analytics to inform wider marketing and creative approaches for organic channels
- Contribute to SEO strategy, including keeping keywords top of mind in content creation
- Identify new and maximize current influencer partnerships to drive brand and business goals, capitalizing on likeminded voices and audiences
- Flag and develop ideas around latest trends, plus stay on top of how platforms evolve (new products, new algorithms, etc.)
- Create a weekly analytics report that includes growth across channels, actionable performance insights, and related go-forward recommendations
- Manage all IRL and physical expressions of the brand, including everything from events and partner activations to printed collateral and branded merch development.
- Participate in regular meetings (virtual and in-person) and respond to leadership in a timely manner over multiple communication channels
- Travel where relevant (with own transportation), including assigned hospitality properties to capture content and attend events and activations
Required Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organization, prioritization, and multitasking abilities
- Capable of content capture, especially for social media (e.g., photos and vertical video)
- Proficient in Adobe Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop) and basic photo and video editing
- Knowledge of all social media platforms
Qualifications
- Relevant college or university major and / or coursework preferred
- Prior role in marketing, communications and / or social media required
- Demonstrated experience in copywriting and content development
