Description
Front Office Sports is seeking a dynamic Director, Video to oversee, manage, and execute video first editorial and original content across all platforms.
This is a new role at an exciting time in the company's life cycle as we continue the transition from a single brand media company into a multi-platform, IP-led media company that delivers content directly to our audience across all of the major social and digital platforms, as well as our owned and operated channels.
This role requires someone who has a keen understanding of developing, editing, and distributing video content across all platforms.
This role requires someone who understands the workload and focus that comes with working at a dynamic and fast paced media company.
This role will report directly to the Vice President, Multimedia.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage all aspects of the day to day production and creation of video content across all social and video platforms
- Manage a team of video editors, hosts, and creators editing through pitches, scripts & videos
- Collaborate with brand partnerships and account management team to ideate and execute campaigns for clients
- Act as a player-coach by writing social video scripts and editing videos
- Pitch and execute new video-first content ideas
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- 7+ years of video content experience including
- Previous experience managing teams of video editors, hosts, and creators
- Proficient understanding of how to build and engage audiences on video first social channels
- Experience with building, managing, and executing short and long term content plans and strategies.
- Experience building video content plans for major sporting events as well as owned and operated events
- Experience building operational processes and working in collaboration with multiple departments to satisfy company and advertiser KPIs
- Keen understanding of the business of sports, what moves our audience, and what we can build to drive deeper engagement and better monetization
- A self-starter capable of taking initiative and leading a team
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent verbal communication and writing skills
- Proficient knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and other relevant software and tools
- Handles pressure effectively and exhibits a flexible, positive attitude
- Background or experience working for a media/news company is preferred
- Able and willing to travel, in addition to working non-traditional hours including evenings and weekends as needed
