The Global Communications team at Hourglass is responsible for creating and executing dynamic communications strategies that inspire and connect key stakeholders, internally and externally.
The Executive Director, Global PR will oversee the brand’s global PR strategy, key messaging, annual editorial approach and media events for the brand – driving impactful editorial coverage, and ensuring the brand is leading share of voice across editorial channels inclusive of digital, social and print.
They will also lead the strategic development of all global press materials and PR toolkits – working with global markets to ensure consistency in messaging and brand positioning. They will oversee management of the U.S. public relations agency from a strategy perspective, and support key international agencies with briefing materials and guidance where needed. In addition, this role will support internal communications at Hourglass, ensuring there is a regular cadence of messaging on key employee channels including LinkedIn and the company newsletter. The ideal candidate will have in-depth PR experience in Luxury and Lifestyle brands either agency or client side.
What You Do
- This role will lead overall global communications strategy for Hourglass supporting brand positioning, product launches and proactive evergreen opportunities
- Partner with Brand Marketing on conception and ideation of PR initiatives to support new product launches and amplifying key existing products and collections
- This role will work with global PR teams to develop news-driving headlines within the ever-changing media landscape across brand, product, community, culture, impact and business
- Provide written and verbal executive communications support for the C-Suite, and stakeholder communications and other communication materials that effectively convey our key messages to external audiences
- Develop a strong NA communications team and partner with international Marketing & Communications leads, to support where needed.
- Lead Internal Communication strategy and execution of key business updates – including the company newsletter and Linkedin page.
- Establish strong relationships with key stakeholders across the business. Coordinate closely with internal teams to ensure consistency and synergy in all external communications.
- Collaborate with regional teams to build considered, strategic editorial plans for product launches, product news and PR programs/events that support business goals and PR directives
- Oversee development of messaging tracks and high-impact editorial angles to increase and improve editorial coverage
- Manage crisis communications and respond promptly to external communication challenges, working with leadership and local market communications leads where necessary
- Drive strategic development of all PR materials and asset toolkits for product initiatives and ensure assets meet Global PR objectives and support regional PR needs.

Qualifications
- Minimum 12 years’ public relations/communications experience preferably in-house for a global beauty, luxury or fashion brand
- Proven experience managing top tier media strategy and ability to collaborate with international markets
- Excellent organizational, communication and written skills, attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to shift priorities and multi-task within a fast-paced environment
- Must have interest and knowledge of media, culture, business and purpose
- Proven people development expertise and able to foster an environment of collaboration.
- Enjoys working in an agile, dynamic and quick-moving environment
- Ability to anticipate and mitigate potential reputational issues, demonstrating sound judgment and discretion.
The expected base salary range for this position is $160,000 to $170,000. The exact base salary is determined by various factors including experience, skills, education, geographic location, and budget. This position is also eligible for participation in the company discretionary bonus plan, based on personal performance and company results.
