Rocklands Barbeque and Grilling Company, serving the area’s best barbeque since 1990, seeks an Executive Assistant to the Owner. Rocklands began with hope and a smoky dream. It has grown and together with the entire team, the companies now include three barbeque restaurants with regional catering, an Arlington sandwich shop, four food trucks and a concession stand at Nationals Park. It is the teamwork that keeps it all humming and the position of Executive Assistant to the Owner is the energized hub. Position Overview: Reporting directly to the Owner, the Executive Assistant will oversee a wide array of administrative, operational, and marketing responsibilities, acting as an organized and professional extension of the Owner. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent communication skills who can manage shifting priorities with ease.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare weekly, monthly and quarterly reports for internal and external reporting requirements.
- Maintain the Owner’s calendar, manage incoming /outgoing mail, answer phones and maintain the headquarters office.
- Track and maintain inventories of uniforms, apparel, sauces and other restaurant supplies as needed.
- Manage employee paperwork, health benefits, bonuses, onboarding materials, employee handbook and other reference manuals. Produce internal newsletter and assist with continuance of the company’s Strategic Plan.
- Work with Marketing team to produce annual marketing plan, promotional materials, advertisements, website content, answer online reviews, and assist in communications with key audiences and in various marketing outreach efforts, including charitable contributions and fundraising events.
- Work with the accounting office on vendor invoices, payroll and other issues as they arise, as well as maintaining all licenses, subscriptions and memberships associated with each store.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, but relevant experience will also be considered.
- Experience in an executive assistant or administrative role, especially within the hospitality or food service industry.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with a keen eye for detail.
- Self-motivated, able to prioritize effectively, and capable of working independently with a good sense of humor.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; at times you will be the surrogate voice of the owner.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, word processing applications, and general computer literacy.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Notary certification.
- Spanish language proficiency is a plus.
- Knowledge of employee benefits administration, payroll, and inventory management.

- Hours: Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 5:30 pm
- Location: Rocklands World Headquarters, Glover Park, DC (with occasional travel to local stores)
