Purpose
Under direct supervision of the Associate Director at the Erb Institute, the Marketing and Communications Coordinator is responsible for the management, performance, and completion of marketing, communications, and other institute projects and activities. The person in this role is responsible for coordinating the activities of a project team, identifying appropriate resources needed, and developing schedules to ensure the timely completion of the project. This person must be familiar with project objectives, as well as the role and function of each team member, to effectively coordinate the activities of the team.
This role is part time (50%) and two-year term limited, with the possibility to be extended. The role is hybrid with on-site expectations in Ann Arbor, MI. Responsibilities*
Marketing Execution: (75%)
- Execute marketing and communications tasks in accordance with the Erb Institute's marketing plans and strategies, including: designing and posting social media content, updating the Erb website, writing newsletter and blog content, and supporting publication projects.
- Collaborate with the Associate Director, Partnerships, and Student Affairs staff to determine needs and requirements and ensure the availability and accuracy of promotional materials.
- Conduct regular inventory checks, place orders, and monitor expenses.
- Support content creation by contributing new ideas and taking them from concept to launch, including working with external vendors, coordinating schedules and interviews, and sharing content broadly.
- Work directly with external vendors to coordinate content, graphic design, publication projects, etc.
- Engage Erb students, faculty, and alumni in the creation of new content for the Erb Institute website and other outlets.
Administration + Institute Support: (25%)
- Simultaneously manage work plans for multiple projects, including documentation and tracking of timelines, key benchmarks, activities, and deliverables. Anticipate and manage potential challenges and obstacles that might impede project success.
- Ensure the integrity of our content storage, including maintaining photo uploads on Erb's Flickr account, updating Google Drive, and Dropbox.
- Manage MarComm related correspondence, scheduling, and communications.
- Schedule and attend meetings as needed, ensure follow up on meeting action items are completed.
- Prepare presentation materials, including presentation decks, informational packets, and other content.
- Support the Erb Institute at events as needed, to represent the organization and make connections.
- Partner with Erb staff on projects to achieve Erb's organizational objectives and meet project deadlines.
Required Qualifications*
- Bachelor's degree or 2+ years of progressive work experience in a professional environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated project management, organizational, and administrative skills.
- Language: Written/Spoken English required.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Mailchimp, Wordpress, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or similar platforms or equivalent education experience in marketing and/or communications.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Behaviors that will be assessed during the hiring process
- Familiarity with Zoom, EventBrite, and meeting tools.
- Familiarity with project management software platforms, such as Monday.com.
- Familiarity with CRM platforms like Salesforce.
- Excellent communication skills, including strong writing skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail, exceptional reliability, and desire to thrive with a team.
- Time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment with multiple, and sometimes conflicting, priorities.
- Proficiency in MS Office, Apple and/or Windows environments, and/or Google applications.

Additional Information
The posting range for this position is $24,850-$29,150. This posting range reflects multiple factors involved in determining compensation, such as skills, experience, training, certifications, and other organizational needs. At Ross, it is not common for new hires to be offered a salary at the upper end of the range. Compensation decisions are based on the details of each situation.
