The Gig:
Virgin Voyages is seeking a strategic and creative Manager of Leadership Engagement & Communications to enhance the connection between our Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and crew members. This role will be responsible for shaping leadership communications, organizing engagement opportunities, and ensuring the effective flow of information across the organization. You will be key in fostering a positive culture and keeping our crew informed, inspired, and engaged.
This gig is based at VVHQ - our swanky Virgin Voyages Head Office in Plantation, FL where we follow a hybrid work environment. We can't wait to 'sea' you in person during our Collaboration Days, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, while you enjoy Mondays and Fridays' as remote days.
What You'll Be Up To:
Leadership Communications
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive content calendar for the SLT and other prominent leaders, ensuring consistent and impactful communication.
- Draft engaging communications, including posts, scripts, comments, and other content to amplify leadership voices across various platforms.
- Identify opportunities for leaders to connect with the crew on Workplace and other internal platforms, enhancing visibility and approachability.
- Create a weekly newsletter for leaders featuring need-to-know information, key updates, and resources for the crew and shoreside teams.
Leadership Engagement
- Plan and execute leadership engagement events, such as Q&As, Crew Check-ins, and impact events, fostering direct and meaningful interactions between leaders and crew members.
- Design and manage engagement opportunities that resonate with crew members, encouraging active participation and feedback.
Shoreside People Communications
- Coordinate and communicate key updates to the Shoreside team, including promotions, benefits changes, and policy updates.
- Ensure timely and effective communication around important HR initiatives, including performance review cycles and other processes that impact shoreside employees.
Learning & Growth Communications
- Manage communications related to leadership development programs and other training opportunities, ensuring that all Shoreside employees are aware of and engaged in opportunities to grow and develop professionally.
- Partner with the People Team to promote ongoing training initiatives, with a particular focus on leadership development and continuous learning.
SuperPowers Required:
- Minimum of three years working in internal communications, employee engagement, or leadership communication roles.
- Strong writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to craft engaging and inspiring messages tailored to various audiences.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to work effectively with senior leaders and diverse teams.
- Experience in planning and executing events that connect leadership with broader employee groups.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and content calendars simultaneously.
- Experience with internal communication platforms (e.g., Workplace) and other digital tools.
- A passion for creating a positive, engaged workplace culture and a deep understanding of employee engagement principles.
