POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking a resourceful and proactive impact maker to join our growing marketing team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for implementing and coordinating projects and marketing operations, overseeing requests and handling quick-turnaround tasks, and managing vendor relationships. You’ll ensure smooth marketing operations, support tech integration, and be a go-to problem-solver for day-to-day tasks. This role is focused on execution and collaboration across multiple teams to support the marketing and the firm’s strategic objectives.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Implement and coordinate projects across marketing and operations, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver on initiatives like firm-wide rebranding and vendor integration.
- Oversee incoming marketing and operational requests, including handling quick-turnaround tasks like internal communications, slide edits, and data processing.
- Support technology integration efforts like HubSpot and Asana for automation and operational efficiency.
- Manage key (e.g. vendor) relationships, ensuring that timelines are met and expectations are clearly communicated.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE IN THIS ROLE
- Growing to be the trusted point person for projects and marketing operations within 1 year. Able to lead and initiate yourself on strategic initiatives within 2 years.
- Handling 80% of operational requests independently within 6 months, with the ability to lead, train, and delegate in 18 months.
- Supporting and leading change management efforts, ensuring smooth adoption of new tools like Asana and HubSpot within 1 year. Ability to influence and nudge teams toward effective adoption within 2 years.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR IN YOUR BACKGROUND
We focus on your personal traits rather than just your experience. We want to know how you’ve grown from your experiences, not just what they are. However, for this role:
- Experience in operations, business analysis, or financial services marketing is crucial. The quarter-end process involves a strict time crunch, requiring efficient newsletter editing, publishing, and the generation of dozens of factsheets and pitchbooks. This process requires collaboration with numerous departments, contributing to a challenging environment. If you can’t understand performance, attribution, or client segmentation, there may be a steep learning curve that could set you up for failure.
- Tech-savvy, proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. For example, you can handle SUMIFs, COUNTIFs, use more Index(Match) than vlookup, PivotTables, or even better: Power Queries. You also have experience with project management software like Microsoft Planner, Asana, Jira, and are able to build dependencies, set smart goals, and define success metrics (we may let you build a project using Asana during interview process).
- Understanding project management fundamentals, especially as they relate to marketing or business operations.
- Confident dealing with C-level executives, able to communicate clearly and say no gracefully.
- You are T-shaped—excelling in 1-3 areas while being capable in several others. We don’t expect expertise in everything on Day 1, but a commitment to learning is essential.
- Detail-oriented, with a keen eye for accuracy and precision. You meticulously review your work to ensure it meets the highest standards, and you are adept at identifying and correcting errors. Your attention to detail helps you manage complex tasks and projects efficiently, ensuring nothing falls through the cracks.

Disclosures:
The annual Crain’s Best Places to Work in Chicago list is determined by a two-step process. The first step consisted of evaluating each participating company’s workplace policies, practices and demographics. This part of the process was worth approximately 20% of the total evaluation. The second part consisted of employee surveys aimed at assessing the experiences and attitudes of individual employees with respect to their workplace. This part was worth approximately 80% of the total evaluation. The combined scores determined the best companies and the final ranking. Workforce Research Group managed the overall registration and survey process and analyzed the data and used its expertise to determine the final ranking. Kovitz paid no application fee to participate in the ranking but a fee was paid to license the award logo. The list was announced in September 2024 using data collected in March and April 2024.
