Style & Sustainability LLC is seeking a User Experience Intern to assist in the creation of an e-commerce website and e-newsletter. Specifically, we’re looking for an energetic, creative, and analytical individual who loves human-centered design. This is an opportunity to work directly with the shop’s owner, a former UX leader who has directed digital teams at multiple Fortune 100 companies, including ExxonMobil, Bank of America, United Airlines, Humana, and Allstate. ROLE DESCRIPTION
This is a part-time role for a User Experience Intern who will be responsible for helping with design thinking, user research, content development, and wireframing to enhance the overall online experience for the company’s flagship brand, Born Again Consignment Parlor, with the potential to extend to other sub-brands. Preference will be given to those who can work on site and occasionally man the shop when needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must Haves
- Knowledge of usability principles and best practices
- Basic understanding of HTML/CSS and wireframing skills
- Experience in user research, content creation, and/or UX design
- Strong problem solving and communication skills (written and verbal)
- Proactive, thorough, and detail-oriented
- Pursuing or holding a degree in Human-Computer Interaction, User Experience, Design, Communications, Journalism, Psychology, or related field
- Passion for sustainability, social responsibility, and continuous learning
Nice to Haves
- Experience working in retail (online or onsite)
- Familiarity with Shopify and Mailchimp
- Knowledge of Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
- Ability to work on site and occasionally man the shop
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the strategy, design, and implementation of our e-commerce website and e-newsletter, ensuring alignment with our brand identity and business objectives
- Conduct user research – including customer interviews, usability testing, and competitor analysis – and assist with design thinking workshop facilitation
- Analyze data for insights to facilitate customer-focused design decisions
- Develop solutions that address user problems and optimize the overall customer journey
- Create user flows and wireframes that effectively communicate design concepts and interactions
- Help with content strategy development & content creation, crafting clear, concise, and user-friendly copy
- Stand up website using Shopify’s platform, selecting digital assets and customizing existing themes to meet design specs and brand guidelines
- Monitor web analytics and implement strategies to improve conversion rates and overall performance, ensuring fast loading times, seamless navigation, and a user-friendly interface
- Continuously research and stay informed about emerging trends and tools to keep online presence fresh and engaging
