The Edison Electric Institute (EEI) is the association that represents all U.S. investor-owned electric companies. Our members provide electricity for more than 220 million Americans and operate in all 50 states and the District of Columbia. As a whole, the electric power industry supports more than 7 million jobs in communities across the United States. In addition to our U.S. members, EEI has more than 65 international electric companies, with operations in more than 90 countries, as International Members, and hundreds of industry suppliers and related organizations as Associate Members.
This is a hybrid position which requires the incumbent to reside in the District of Columbia metropolitan area and come into the office a minimum of three days each week with two of the mandatory days being Tuesday and Wednesday.
Key Responsibilities Of The Coordinator, Human Resources
EEI is looking to add a bright, resourceful, and organized Coordinator, Human Resources to our team.
Other Important Responsibilities Of The Coordinator, Human Resources Include
- Provides administrative support in managing department workflow, process quality improvements, and department-wide correspondence, including but not limited to doing a preliminary review of the weekly HR e-newsletter.
- Prepares new employee electronic files and files documents into appropriate employee files.
- Completes new employee onboarding, mandatory I-9 forms and maintains documentation of I-9 files.
- Completes employee offboarding (in partnership with benefits manager) and assists with termination process across EEI.
- Conducts audits of payroll, benefits or other HR programs and recommends solutions for process improvement.
- Updates, adds/removes content on company intranet (The GRID) page as directed.
- Collaborates closely with the HR team and other related departments to manage specific projects within the HR communication strategy, and creates consistent, relevant and engaging communications (written and graphic) in support of all HR initiatives.
- Maintains a consistent employer brand and organizational image and tone throughout all communication channels.
- Serves as a copyeditor for reference materials such as organizational policies, on- and off-boarding materials, goal and performance review initiatives, summaries of benefits, and other written internal communications.
- Researches benchmarking data and HR analytics.
- Schedules meetings and interviews as requested by HR team members.
- Assists with reconciling monthly department invoices.
- Assists directly with routine inquiries by employees and external vendors.
- Maintains and updates compliance posters.
- Assists with coordinating team events such as health and wellness fairs/programs.
Required Qualifications
Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree preferable in human resources or related field, with two plus years of experience supporting senior leaders and strong writing experience.

Compensation
The salary range for this role is $55,000 - $70.000. Starting annual salary will be determined on individual qualifications. EEI also offers an annual performance incentive which is prorated for mid-year start dates. This incentive is typically up to 10% of the base salary.
