Job Description Summary
The
External Outreach Specialist plays a crucial role in driving external engagement initiatives for ACBE. This position supports the strategic goals of the Career Advancement and Student Success team reporting to the Director of Corporate Relations by coordinating employer-driven events, managing job postings on internal platforms, and effectively communicating external partner events and talent recruitment timelines through the ACBE career newsletter. The
External Outreach Specialist bridges external outreach efforts and the internal Career Advancement team and staff, ensuring seamless collaboration and enhanced career development experiences for students. Success in this role requires exceptional time management, multitasking, organizational skills, a customer-centric focus, and the ability to quickly adapt to change. Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, particularly Excel, and a willingness to learn internal programs are essential. This role demands collaboration with various internal and external university partners to enhance career development, employment, and diversity outcomes for ACBE students.
Responsibilities
Event Management
- Coordinate, plan, and execute on- and off-campus events involving employer and external partners, collaborating with university catering and event operations teams.
- Serve as the on-site coordinator and manager for external partner events.
- Work with internal teams and student ambassadors to create marketing materials and campaigns for employer and external partner events.
- Manage event registration processes, compile attendance reports, and attendee satisfaction surveys.
- Represent the Corporate Relations team at various meetings and events on and off campus.
- Process catering payments
- Other duties as assigned.
External Partner Management
- Utilize university and school technologies such as Handshake, 12Twenty, 25Live, Qualtrics, Lightcast, ZoomInfo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Canva, Adobe Acrobat, SAP Concur, and HubSpot.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to create programming aligned with ACBE goals and objectives.
- Support employer partners in meeting their talent acquisition goals.
- Research and report on hiring trends and employment statistics.
- Assist in prospecting and researching new and existing employer partners for ACBE leadership.
- Help employer partners with job postings and role management on internal platforms.
- Other duties as assigned.
Campus and Community Engagement
- Plan, facilitate, and market external partner initiatives and events to foster engagement between students and employers.
- Increase participation in employer events, including career fairs and networking events, and lead boutique job fair planning and implementation.
- Update and manage the weekly career advancement team newsletter for ACBE students.
- Create and manage a monthly employer partner newsletter.
- Maintain and ensure the accuracy of the employer partner CRM database.
- May manage ACBE Career Team student ambassadors, including training and scheduling.
- Other duties as assigned.
Marketing
- Create flyers and collateral for communicating events
- Create and distribute weekly newsletter related to career advancement and employer engagement
- Post events on social media such as LinkedIn and other brand awareness activities
- Other duties as assigned
Other Responsibilities
- Compile expense reports for the corporate relations team.
- Undertake additional projects and duties as required by business needs.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required
- Minimum of 3-4 years of relevant experience
- 3-4 years of customer service or event management experience
- A combination of relevant education and experience may be considered
- Growth mindset with an entrepreneurial spirit.
- Self-starter with a strong desire to take initiative and contribute.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to changing market conditions.
- Meticulous attention to detail in planning and executing events and managing communications.
