ICMA is currently seeking a Program Manager - Membership Benefits & Services to assist with managing multiple awards programs, Life membership program, and data integrity. This position will work with the Senior Program Manager to promote awards programs, organize nomination processes, facilitate meetings with evaluation panel, verify accuracy of awards orders, and highlight recipients on various platforms.
The Program Manager will oversee the Life membership program which supports long-term members. This entails data analysis and thoughtful outreach. This individual will also play a pivotal role in monitoring and maintaining data accuracy, generating reports, completing internal forms, creating social media content, retention.
The Program Manager - Membership Benefits & Services, Awards Programs & Member Support reports to the Senior Program Manager, Awards Programs.
The Program Manager- Membership Benefits & Services, Awards Programs & Member Support salary is based on experience level and ranges between $62,422 and $74,930.
What You'll Do
Awards Programs (approximately 40% of time)
- Coordinate with Marketing team to create attractive and accurate images to promote multiple ICMA Awards programs via mass emails, website, social media, and association's newsletter and magazine. Connect with ICMA affiliate associations to cross promote awards. Act as liaison with Global department to increase the number of international submissions.
- Conduct testing to ensure nominations can be submitted accurately online. Review incoming awards submissions for correctness and eligibility, perform follow up as necessary.
- Draft meeting agendas, guidelines, scoring sheets, press kits, submission packets and other materials for various groups.
- Review, maintain, and update Awards section of website. Maintain multiple online listings.
- Review artwork and signatures for awards and submit internal financial and contractual forms related to ordering awards.
- Remain abreast of industry awards standards and suggest enhancements and efficiencies to programs.
- Collect, compile, and organize award recipient bios and headshots for inclusion in association's magazine. Work with writer and editor to assist in production of the magazine's Awards issue.
- Work with finance administration to execute accurate Purchase Orders and Voucher Check Request (VCR) forms.
Member Support - (approximately 30% of time)
- Respond to member calls, voicemails, and emails. Promote ICMA's member benefits and resources.
- Process membership applications, reinstatements and upgrades.
- Manage Life and Retired member recognition, including proactively screening for eligibility, budget projections, ordering and inventorying related supplies and recognition materials.
- Support retention efforts bi-annually via outreach, data analysis, tracking and reporting.
- Collaborate with Senior Program Manager and internal teams to drive delivery excellence for the program and to translate organizational objectives into program objectives and practices.
- Promote a culture of excellence, inclusion, learning, support, diversity and innovation.
Data Management - (approximately 30% of time)
- Assist with running queries and data input.
- Maintain member data and generate related reports. Note and report data trends and gaps.
- Maintain goals and progress in Monday.com. Define and document processes and drive continuous improvement using measurement/metrics data; create analytics that give leaders insights into objectives and key results on programs.
What You Need To Be Successful In This Role
- Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline
- Three (3) to Five (5) years of experience in program or project management. Willingness to supervise support staff and interns

- Proven ability to orchestrate activities and problem solve across multiple stakeholder teams, leading others in delivery of a solution

- Ability to manage changing priorities and adapt to a changing business environment while building and strengthening internal and external relationships
- Proven ability to orchestrate activities and problem solve across multiple stakeholder teams, leading others in delivery of a solution
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication, presentation, analytical, planning, and process development skills
- Demonstrated ability to respond effectively to multiple priorities, continuously prioritize deliverables, and to respond in a dynamic work environment
- Strong analytical and data analysis skills
- Highly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, virtual platforms, and association management software
- Interest in Local Government or membership associations preferred.
- Experience with database and website management preferred.

This position is based out of ICMA's headquarters, located in Washington, D.C. At this time, all ICMA staff are working remotely. The selected individual must be able to work the core business hours from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm EST. Our office will remain operational and accessible for staff to use on a voluntary basis.
A high-speed Internet connection is required. Personnel will provide the Internet service at their own expense. The internet connection must be of sufficient bandwidth to allow the team member to efficiently perform their regular job functions.
