Minimum Qualifications
Five to ten years of experience in digital communications, social media, graphic design, public relations, marketing, or related field
The preferred candidate will have:
- Exceptional written and verbal communication
- Extensive experience writing and editing
- Proven success writing and managing compelling website and social media content on Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube, and emerging social platforms
- Experience in basic graphic design for web and print
- Ability to analyze data from digital communication platforms and make recommendations based on trends
- Experience writing video scripts for public consumption
- Ability to navigate relationships across a diverse set of stakeholders
- Proven record of critical thinking that has led to meaningful change at past organizations
- Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment
Duties Description
The Justice Center is actively searching for a highly motivated individual to become an integral part of the agency’s Communications Team. The Assistant Director of Public Information and Digital Content will oversee the agency’s digital presence, prepare written communications for a variety of platforms, and assist with agency media relations efforts. The right candidate must be a creative thinker with exceptional public writing skills, isn’t afraid to challenge current practices, and has a proven track record of collaboration at all levels. Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Support Director of Public Information in managing brand narrative across all agency communications, including, website, social media, reports, press releases, and other channels
- Measure, report, and leverage analytics of all digital initiatives, assessing against set goals and objectives
- Design graphics for agency digital and print needs
- Craft agency newsletter and internal messaging and assist in writing and copyediting all reports, remarks, and written materials produced by the agency
- Create meaningful social media content and monitor for needed responses
- Manage agency website and intranet
- Monitor and report movement surrounding trending topics that pertain to the agency’s key messaging
- Serve as the Director of Public Information’s back-up
- Assess and continually work to improve public perception of the agency
