We are looking for a Communication and Social Media intern to help us maintain our communication channels including social media.
The ideal candidate will be creative, insightful, and passionate about engaging new audiences to learn more about incredible people, projects, and initiatives that are helping transform the lives of skilled immigrants across Massachusetts. They should be enthusiastic about working with immigrants and refugees. The Communications Intern will report to the Career Program Coordinator and work closely with other team members. We expect this opportunity to align with your professional development objectives.
Hours: 10-15 hours per week
Targeted Period: Fall Semester, September to December 2024 (possibility to extend)
Compensation: $2,500
Workplace: Hybrid
Responsibilities:
- Developing and executing a social media plan to build awareness and excitement about ABN activities.
- Producing short stories on volunteers and clients on their ABN experience.
- Maintaining a WordPress website.
- Designing and editing our monthly newsletter with MailChimp.
- Writing success stories and social media posts.
- Monitoring the audience and identifying key topics to raise awareness of ABN’s activities.
Requirements:
- Background in Marketing, Market Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills. Strong ability to write compelling and engaging work.
- Knowledge of social media platforms (Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram) and monitoring tools.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Must be a self-starter.
- Graphic design skills, including the use of Canva.
- Website updates and knowledge of WordPress.
- Experience in video production and photography.
- Enjoys having a lot of autonomy and independence while still integrating with ABN goals.
