### Role Overview
As a vital member of our Central Office coding team, you will leverage your expertise to guide healthcare providers and coding professionals. Your responsibility will include offering clear, accurate advice on ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and HCPCS Level II codes. Additionally, you will assist in creating valuable resources, including our quarterly publication, which serves as a reliable U.S. clearinghouse for coding information.
### Key Responsibilities
- **Expert Guidance**: Research and draft responses regarding ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS coding, ensuring healthcare settings report accurate data per established guidelines.
- **Review and Analysis**: Analyze feedback on coding drafts to uphold high standards of accuracy and consistency in the advice provided.
- **Data Management**: Maintain our internal database of coding responses to ensure consistency and serve as a reliable resource for coding professionals.
- **Publication Contributions**: Help create content for our quarterly newsletter, a well-respected resource within the coding community.
- **Collaboration with Experts**: Work alongside the coding team and clinical specialists to draft agenda items for our Editorial Advisory Board, providing vital background for discussions.
### Qualifications
- **Experience**: At least 5 years in ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS within a hospital setting. Relevant experience as a coding supervisor, lead coder, coding trainer/educator, or coding auditor is essential.
- **Certifications**: Successful completion of the Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) exam is required.
- **Education**: An Associate's degree is required, along with 5-7 years of relevant coding experience.
