The Reflections Program Coordinator oversees all aspects of the Reflections Program. Founded in 2013, the Nasher Museum’s Reflections Program involves guided gallery conversations, hands-on art making experiences, and live music in the galleries for visitors with memory-loss and their care partners. In addition to coordinating and facilitating Reflections tours, the program coordinator acts as the primary liaison for the program, cultivating and sustaining partnerships with Duke University, the Durham and Triangle communities, and beyond. This position involves working closely with community partners and university faculty and students to ensure that the program maintains its primary focus: to serve the needs of individuals with memory-loss and their care partners. The program coordinator works with the Assistant Director of Education and Associate Curator of Academic Initiatives to assess the Reflections Program and make recommendations based on program goals and objectives.
WORK PERFORMED
Primary Duties Will Include, But Are Not Limited To
- Write monthly tours and virtual programs, design and purchase materials for art making activities, and hire musicians, artists, or others for multi-sensory engagement.
- Lead guided gallery conversations and participate in engagement activities alongside Reflections Gallery Guides.
- Promote the Reflections Program to university partners and area Assisted Living Facilities and community organizations.
- Find creative solutions to diversify Reflections visitor participants.
- Coordinate the Nasher’s participation in area Caregiver Summits and conferences and staff a table at such events.
- Assist in scheduling Reflections tours and Gallery Guide assignments.
- Confirm tours and manage database of public tour participants.
- Schedule Gallery Guide training sessions with university and local organizations and partners.
- Assist in coordination of evaluation efforts of the Reflections Program to gather and analyze data for program development, as well as reporting to individual donors and grant organizations.
- Assist in creating and managing the budget for Reflections, as well as tracking and processing all Reflections-related expenditures (i.e., item purchases and honoraria).
- Actively participate in donor proposals and conversations for program-related funding.
- Work with PR department to promote program through the website, e-newsletter, social media, and printed materials.
- Facilitating Reflections-related research projects and/or coursework involving university classes, faculty, and students.
- Assist with the selection, training, supervision and evaluation of Reflections-focused research fellows, student interns and/or gallery guides. Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
- Serve as liaison for interested departments and students within Duke University.

Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Must have a valid NC driver’s license.
- 1-2 years-experience in a related field.
- Must have compassion for and desire to work with the senior population or individuals with memory loss.
- Experience working successfully as part of a team as evidenced by past work experiences and application materials.
- Strong communication, organization, and planning skills as evidenced by past work experiences and in application materials.
- Experience collaborating with university faculty on research, program design, implementation, or coordination.
- Supervisory experience of student staff.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
Work requires analytical, communications and organizational skills generally acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree program.
Experience
Work requires one year of experience in program administration or OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE involving academic, instructional or counseling activities to acquire skills necessary to plan, coordinate and implement a variety of program activities and events.
