Description
Working under the direction of a Harvard manager, assist with and coordinate digital marketing and advertising campaigns. Work with Harvard managers to identify marketing goals, audiences and messaging. Research and recommend available markets and channels. Assist with the development of digital marketing plans and related deliverables. Produce digital marketing copy and content as needed. Coordinate production of non digital aspects of marketing campaigns. Review deliverables from ad agencies contracted by Harvard, third party designers or other creatives for acceptability relative to Harvard s requirements, expectations and brand standards. Solid knowledge and on the job experience with paid and owned social media, podcast sponsorship, digital display, and email (eblasts and newsletters) advertising. Solid knowledge and on the job experience with paid search, search engine optimization and web analytics.
May use web analytics to prepare regular reporting and analysis (trends, key metrics, results) for digital campaigns. May serve as subject matter expert on digital advertising efforts, digital marketing product capabilities and digital media trends.
Will liaise with and represent Harvard s interests, needs and requirements with publishers, advertising agencies, suppliers and creative resources to ensure successful project execution. Will conduct periodic audits of invoices, budgets, and media plans to optimize Harvard s media investment.
Required technical skills: Intermediate or better proficiency in typical Microsoft Office products. Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS and Photoshop as well as web analytics. Additional skills with products like Salesforce CRM may be helpful. Report-To Detail

Supporting the Director of Digital Marketing, this role will provide internal clients with expertise on how to build and manage successful email marketing campaigns. This includes email for various academic programs, research newsletters, internal communications, and event invitations. The person in this role will manage multiple email marketing platforms, any related technology integrations, and offer one-on-one technical support for email marketing tools during business hours. This position will require a deep understanding of marketing technologies and email best practices. The ideal candidate will love working with people and solving problems. Job Duties Act as go-to expert for Salesforce Marketing Cloud and other email platforms. Manage email platform account settings and user account permissions. Develop email templates that meet client needs and brand standards. Train new users to edit email templates, upload contact lists, and schedule emails. Help internal clients adapt their email content to fit templates. Respond to client questions and be helpful troubleshooting technical issues. Manage email automations and workflows. Provide ad-hoc email performance reporting. Create webforms for newsletter signup pages and subscription management. Guide IT in implementation of various technology integrations. Basic Qualifications: 3+ years of hands-on work with email marketing platforms (Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Pardot, Klaviyo, Acoustic, HubSpot, ActiveCampaign, or similar). Demonstrated successes in improving email marketing performance. Additional Qualifications and skills: Knowledge of email HTML strongly preferred. Knowledge of Salesforce CRM strongly preferred. Bachelor s degree preferred. Ability to manage multiple projects and balance priorities. Ability to provide superior client service, while projecting positivity and confidence. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Exceptional attention to detail. Experience working in a large marketing team or marketing agency is preferred.
