About the Role:

As the Editor-in-Chief for the second issue of the Women’s Aerospace Magazine, you will play a pivotal role in crafting a compelling appealing publication that resonates with our audience. This volunteer position involves setting the magazine’s direction, actively seeking and collaborating with contributors and team members such as the graphic designer and copy editor.

Time Commitment:

2-3 hours per week for ~5 months.

Responsibilities:

Establish the overall direction and theme of the magazine issue.
Develop and maintain a clear and strategic roadmap for the magazine issue.
Work closely with the graphic designer to create visually appealing layouts for the magazine.
Communicate with individuals who have submitted articles.
Actively seek out and recruit individuals to contribute articles.
Perform detailed and hands-on editing and evaluation of articles.

Qualifications:

Proven experience in writing, such as having a published book, newsletter, or other writing experience.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with a diverse range of contributors and team members.
Meticulous attention to detail in both writing and editing, ensuring all content is polished.

Preferred Qualifications:

Familiarity or interest in the aerospace industry.
Strong organizational and project management skills to set and adhere to deadlines, manage multiple tasks, and keep the magazine on track.
Experience in creating creative marketing content.

Compensation:

This is a volunteer position for one issue of the magazine. Successful performance may lead to future paid opportunities as we continue to grow.
