Organization Overview: NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) Greater Orlando is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing advocacy, education, and support for individuals and families affected by mental illness. Our mission is to raise awareness, promote understanding, and provide resources to improve the lives of those impacted by mental health conditions.
Position Summary: NAMI Greater Orlando is seeking a versatile and creative Marketing Development Associate to enhance our marketing efforts and support our fundraising initiatives. The successful candidate will develop and implement social media strategies, manage digital and print content. They will also work closely with the Development Manager to support donor engagement and event coordination. This role requires a strong understanding of digital content creation, excellent organizational skills, and a passion for NAMI's mission to support individuals and families affected by mental illness.
Key Responsibilities:
Marketing & Design
- Develop and implement social media strategies across platforms including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn.
- Create, design, and schedule all social media content (images, video, written) to ensure consistency with NAMI’s voice and marketing objectives.
- Monitor social media channels, engage with followers, and respond to inquiries promptly and professionally.
- Gather relevant information, design, and distribute our bi-weekly newsletter to all email subscribers
- Liaise with internal teams, ensuring a cohesive approach to marketing strategies
- Create, manage, and promote events on social media, Eventbrite, and other relevant online platforms.
- Manage website content to ensure it is up-to-date, engaging, and SEO-friendly.
- Implement protocol for regular website resources review and maintenance.
- Oversee the company blog, including managing submissions, publishing content, coordinating with writers, and promoting on social media.
- Design flyers, brochures, and other printed materials to support programs, marketing campaigns and events.
- Manage the orders for all printed materials, ensuring timely and cost-effective production and delivery.
- Analyze social media and website performance metrics, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to continuously enhance our digital presence.
Fundraising & Event Support
- Collaborate with the development team to plan and execute campaigns, promotions, and events.
- Assist in management of donor databases, updating records for accuracy
- Create personalized thank you letters and acknowledgments to our valued donors and sponsors.
- Support the development and maintenance of robust relationships with sponsors, partners, and donors.
- Provide on-site event support, ensuring smooth event operations and attendee satisfaction.
- Attend and support public speaking engagements, including presentations, and community events, as needed
- Support with health fair events - gathering and printing materials, coordinating with organizers, and attending as needed
Office Assistance
- Assist with administrative tasks, including data entry, record-keeping, and maintaining donor-related documents.
- Answer phone calls, respond to emails, and provide information to individuals seeking assistance or resources
Qualifications:
Requirements
- Associates degree or higher, OR 3+ years of relevant work experience in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
- Available to work in office: Mon – Fri, from 9:00am to 5:00pm
- Occasional work on evenings and weekends for annual events – e.g. NAMIWalks, Gala of Giving Hope, Annual Meeting
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Proficient with graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite)
- Proficient with website content management systems (e.g., Big Tomato, WordPress, Wix)
- Prior experience in social media management, content creation, and website management preferred
- Previous work experience with a non-profit, social work, or mental health organization a big plus
- Creative mindset with an eye for detail and a passion for NAMI’s mission
