The Creativity & Social Innovation Coordinator provides operational and technical support for the implementation of programs and outreach efforts to support innovation at Middlebury. The Creativity & Social Innovation Coordinator will be responsible for communicating the hub's initiatives and success stories of individuals and groups to internal and external audiences. They will also perform administrative tasks for the Innovation Hub's overall programs.
This is a part-time non-benefit eligible position. The salary range for the position is $20.57- $25.72 per hour.
Requirements
Essential Functions: - Work with Hub leadership to assist in the implementation of innovation and global health experiential opportunities, particularly logistics and recruitment following strategy decisions on global health experiential opportunities
- Work collaboratively with Innovation Hub staff to develop and manage an engaging hub story across internal and external information distribution channels for diverse stakeholders (students, faculty, staff, parents, alumni, and community partners)
- Work with Associate Director of Creativity & Innovation and internship team to administer:
- Weekly newsletter
- Social media and website
- Compile news and alumni stories to help maintain a strong social media presence. Cultivate alumni relations through Facebook and LinkedIn pages
- Promotion of programs
- Student tracking
- Develop, implement and support programs to inform and inspire social innovation at Middlebury. Assess and report the effectiveness of these programs
- Serve as the administrative liaison for Middlebury's partnership with local and state entrepreneurial organizations like LaunchVT, VCET, Hula, Fresh Tracks, and economic development organizations
- Support, coordinate, train and motivate students to build successful social innovation initiatives through advising, the implementation and facilitation of the grants program, the fellowship program, Projects for Peace
- Support, coordinate, and implement exposure to social innovation through internships, Vermont Innovation Summer program, mentor/speaker events, and workshops (including, but not limited to cross-cultural communication, ethical decision-making, budgeting, pre-departure). Assist in the design and implementation of global health experiential opportunities
- Produce and direct multimedia stories about the efforts of Middlebury students, faculty and staff that demonstrate leadership and learning about social innovation
- Compile Innovation Hub newsletter, social media, communications and outreach projects. Maintain the website, including blog and media updates, and write copy and other documentation for distribution to internal and external audiences
- Supports relationships with Clinton Global Initiative University, Ashoka, and other university networks
- Direct supervision of undergraduate interns
General Responsibilities:
- Serve as an ambassador for the social innovation programs to current students, prospective students, parents, faculty and staff, alumni, community members, and community partners. Serve as a conduit for communication between these groups, including through the maintenance of Midd2Midd and tracking
- Serve as a liaison between Innovation Hub and Center for Community Engagement, Center for Careers and Internships, Environmental Affairs, and other campus partners to streamline programming
- Speak publicly about the creativity and innovation programs
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's degree is required; some work experience is helpful. Must have experience in the field of social innovation.

- Highly motivated and goal-oriented personality
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and marketing skills
- Ability to work independently and flexibly, ability to set priorities; ability to solve problems quickly and creatively

- Flexibility to support, encourage and respond to program growth
Experience:
Experience in the field of social innovation, with issues of social justice, and understanding of cultural competency.
Candidates who are familiar with both the College and Addison County are most desirable.
Physical Demands:
- Regularly required to, stand, sit; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate diverse technologies
- Requires occasional bending, crouching and reaching
- Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 20lbs
- Some irregular hours in the evenings and/or on weekends
