NAPCO Media’s Retail & Travel Group’s Women Leading Travel & Hospitality, an association for executive-level women in the travel and hospitality industries, is looking for a Content and Events Strategist.
This person serves as the strategic lead on all content initiatives, including in-person and virtual events and special projects (e.g., peer group calls). The Content and Events Strategist is a key strategic role that not only leads content efforts but also represents the brand publicly. This person will lead audience growth across in-person and virtual events as well as digital channels such as website traffic, newsletter subscribers, and social media followers, ultimately leading to improved member acquisition and retention rates. The Content and Events Strategist focuses on identifying and executing upon opportunities for growth in audience and engagement across multiple platforms. This role also requires strong project management, networking and communication skills. Travel required.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and work with appropriate teams on content strategy and execution for the Women Leading Travel & Hospitality brand.
- Represent Women Leading Travel & Hospitality publicly at in-person and virtual events, maintaining and enhancing brand visibility and engagement.
- Lead speaker acquisition and relationship management for Women Leading Travel & Hospitality events.
- Produce content strategy for Women Leading Travel & Hospitality events, including content programming (e.g., building agenda, writing session titles and descriptions, event website updates).
- Participate in member acquisition and retention activities as part of Women Leading Travel & Hospitality membership initiatives.
- Moderate panels at Women Leading Travel & Hospitality events (in-person and virtual), partnership events, and industry events.
- Own/manage mobile platforms for all Women Leading Travel & Hospitality events.
- Assist in content production and event planning for other Retail & Travel Group brands (Women in Retail Leadership Circle, Total Retail).
Experience, Skills and Attributes for Success:
- 3 years to 5 years of content development, management and production experience
- Minimum 1 year to 3 years of experience developing and executing events from concept to execution
- Excellent writing, editing and interviewing skills
- Experience planning, managing and executing event programming
- Comfortable speaking to large groups for both in-person and virtual events
- The ability to build and maintain a network of industry contacts
- An understanding of/experience working adjacently to the travel and/or hospitality industries is a plus
- Experience working in a membership-based organization is a plus
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Experience using analytics tools to inform content strategy
- Experience using WordPress as a CMS
- Experience with MS Office and Outlook
- Enthusiastic attitude toward creating content, growing audience, and working with a team of editors

Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, English, Writing or related field; Marketing or Communications; Event Management or Hospitality Management; Hospitality and Tourism Management
