Value Add is a popular trade publication for the private equity industry. We launched in 2023 and have grown quickly to thousands of readers from some of the world's top PE firms including Blackstone, Permira, Advent International, and TA Associates.
We're expanding our team and looking for a part-time editor who will write and edit 2-3 articles per week. The ideal candidate is an experienced finance or business reporter who has covered the private equity industry and is comfortable interviewing senior executives.
Responsibilities
- Keep a pulse on private equity trends with a particular focus on buyouts, exits, and value creation.
- Write trend pieces about buyouts and exits, such as the types of industries PE firms are increasing or decreasing their exposure.
- Conduct original reporting on the activities happening in PE-backed companies after a buyout (e.g. management changes, restructuring, transformation, M&A, etc.).
- Interview executives in PE firms as well as portfolio companies both on- and off-the-record.
- Help edit our weekly newsletter as well as other pieces of content written by our team of analysts.
- Work with our publisher on audience development and editorial strategy.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Experience interpreting financial statements and conducting research on companies.
- Talented writer who can craft engaging stories out of esoteric financial data.
- Persistent reporter who is eager to dive into the world of corporate turnarounds.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
