Job Description:
- This position is responsible for the social media and communications presence of the Chicagoland Food & Beverage Network (a food & beverage industry trade association) and its sister organization the Bigger Table (a charitable non-profit). This is a contract position (monthly contract) based upon the completion of specific metrics and goals - postings, newsletters, etc. to promote the organizations’ mission and resources and help connect the organization with their growing member network.
Contract Responsibilities Include:
- Weekly postings (5 minimum, daily preferred) with unique content to social channels (instagram, facebook, linkedin, and twitter) - connecting tags to sponsors/vendors, members, and partner organizations. With a primary objective of engaging a professional audience in relation to industry issues, upcoming events, and industry news.
- Generate and support new and interesting narratives regarding the organizations in the greater Chicagoland food industry scene - through publications, marketing efforts & outreach (public relations).
- Weekly presence (attendance at all events & promotional events) to support connection to content (photographs, check-ins with event lead).
- Support of organization’s events via press connections, member connections, and communications & marketing support - including creation of materials to support events, post event blog posts, and promotions (Canva, etc..)
- Writes & executes three monthly newsletters for CFBN, and one quarterly newsletter for Bigger Table (Wild Apricot)
- Edits and posts weekly virtual content to the website and marketing channels (Wild Apricot)
- Generates & updates content to website as needed - blog posts, member updates (Wild Apricot)
- Works with the internal team to grow the audience (all channels), connection points to all audience types (member & industry), and traffic to all platforms. Monthly/Quarterly metric reviews with team leads & Executive Director.
Position Requirements:
- Excellent writing, communication, interpersonal, and social media skills and/or experience
- Proficiency in basic software tools (microsoft suite, google suite, canva, adobe, mailchimp, web site management tools) - or an ability to be trained and learn specific industry tools as needed.
- Photo editing and photography skills and/or experience; video editing skills and/or experience
- Experience in a food industry setting: professional F&B, manufacturing, CPG, restaurant, grocery, or related!
- Energetic, fun, friendly individual with ability to collaborate!
- Passion for better food movements a plus
- Knowledge of and demonstrated skills on all social platforms + scheduling tools
- Able to exercise independent judgment, work independently, and has strong decision making skills
- Has a positive attitude and a great sense of quality and urgency
- Team player with a collaborative style and approach

About CFBN: The Chicagoland Food & Beverage Network is an industry trade association representing food and beverage companies in the greater Chicagoland area. Bigger Table is its sister organization, a non-profit focused on industry efforts to feed the hungry and support access and inclusion in the F&B industry. CFBN was launched in 2017 to bring industry players together, to provide a forum for collaboration and support, and to better connect the 4,500 companies in the industry across Chicagoland to drive innovation and growth in the region.

- This is a part time contract position, with a weekly commitment of 20-25 hours.
