The Marketing Message Strategist is responsible for leading the development of clear, compelling, and benefit-driven content across various marketing channels. This role is the go-to resource for message strategy and content creation, supporting both internal and external communications.
The strategist will work closely with the Director of Marketing and subject matter experts throughout the company to craft accurate, engaging, and impactful messaging for digital and print platforms. This includes customer success stories, technical articles, websites, email campaigns, SEO content, presentations, social media, and more.
This position requires strong project management skills, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of how content drives engagement and results. As a senior member of the team, the strategist is also responsible for improving messaging processes and mentoring peers in content best practices.
Key Responsibilities
Write clear, value-driven content for diverse audiences and platforms, including email, websites, print collateral, SEO articles, ads, social media, presentations, and case studies
Collaborate with internal teams and subject matter experts to research and create content aligned with marketing goals and the customer journey
Edit content for clarity, brand consistency, tone, grammar, formatting, and accuracy
Lead proofreading, fact-checking, and review processes for marketing materials
Develop and maintain the content calendar, writing style guide, and other messaging documentation
Interview subject matter experts to develop content for marketing campaigns across multiple products and industries
Research, define, and refine customer personas and ideal customer profiles (ICPs) with supporting positioning statements and value propositions
Manage multiple content projects and deadlines, coordinating with designers and marketers to meet timelines and objectives

Technical Proficiencies
Proficient in Adobe Acrobat Professional, Google Docs, and Google Slides
Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite and/or Canva a plus
Experience with email marketing tools, webinar platforms (GoToMeeting a plus), and CMS platforms (HubSpot a plus)
Comfortable using data analytics software to evaluate messaging performance
Knowledge of AP Style preferred
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Journalism, Communications, or a related field required
Minimum of 10 years of experience in message strategy, with at least 3 years in B2B marketing
Proven success in developing content that aligns with brand messaging and delivers measurable impact
