Breaking Barriers is an innovative 18-24 month rapid rehousing program that serves adults that have been justice impacted in Los Angeles County and are experiencing homelessness. Breaking Barriers provides employment services, a rental subsidy combined with housing retention, and intensive case management services. The goal is for clients to fully assume rental payments and "transition in place" at program end.
DOORS is a Community Reentry Center located in South LA. This collaborative space houses multiple community organizations, including Chrysalis, that are focused on providing resources to those who are directly or indirectly impacted by the Justice System.
Job Summary
The Client Services Coordinator (CSC) is responsible for providing high quality services to those who have been impacted by the justice system, impacted by homelessness, and low-income individuals who come through our doors every day. This role is key in coordinating services; ensuring adherence to organizational procedures; and fostering a safe, welcoming and professional work environment. This position requires a positive attitude, excellent customer service skills, highly developed interpersonal skills and the ability to multitask in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. The person for this role should also have excellent communication skills and be able to professionally communicate with multiple stakeholders.
Duties And Responsibilities To Include, But Not Limited To
Provide High Quality Services to Individuals Visiting Chrysalis: 50%
- Establish welcoming presence and maintain positive, motivating demeanor and tone.
- Facilitate client's access to Chrysalis programs and resources.
- Greet guests and assist them as needed.
- Promote and explain Chrysalis services accurately to visitors and callers.
- Carry out all aspects of client orientation: distribute and explain the Client Services Form, assist with setting expectations for incoming clients including next steps.
- Assist clients in accessing resources from partner agencies.
- Coach clients on professional behavior when necessary.
- Provide 1:1 services to clients including but not limited to creating resumes & cover letters, facilitating mock interviews, and assisting with OJAs (Online Job Applications).
- Facilitate new client orientation, job preparation classes, and other seminars.
- Manage all incoming JCOD referrals in CMS. Including outreach and tracking
Facilitate Front Lobby Operations: 20%
- Administer client use of supportive resources such as the computer lab, phones, copier, mail, etc.
- Be aware of classes and other activities taking place and direct clients to activities as needed.
- Manage and respond to all incoming telephone calls.
- Inform guests of rules/procedures/policies.
- Assist in de-escalating situations as needed.
- Assist with closing and opening procedures.
- Work collaboratively with other Chrysalis staff members to maintain a calm, orderly environment.
Provide Administrative and Staff Support: 30%
- Input client data and case notes into various database systems (Salesforce, CMS, etc.) promptly and accurately.
- Maintain supply of employment curricula and client service forms for use and distribution.
- Maintain up-to-date supplies for classes (handouts, teaching notes, and class sign-in sheets, etc.).
- Provide administrative support to Employment Specialists as needed. (Maintaining client records, resume building assistance, providing job leads.)
- Assist the Director of Reentry Initiatives, Program Manager, Senior Employment Specialists, and staff as needed.
- Participate in outreach activities, such as resource and job fairs, as needed.
- Participate in case conferences and staff meetings to help accurately assess and meet client needs.
- Participate in organizational meetings, trainings and other functions.
- Collaborate with ES's, SES, PM, & DRI to supply clients & team with resources & job leads within their community by creating a monthly newsletter.
General Duties
- Adhere to all Chrysalis policies and procedures.

- Passion for Chrysalis's mission. Sensitivity and understanding of various cultures and lifestyles.
- Previous customer service experience in a fast-paced environment desired.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.
- Exceptional customer service skills.

- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain appropriate boundaries with staff and clients.
- Computer literacy, data processing, and word processing skills (MS Office).

- Experience and/or desire and commitment to work with homeless, low-income ,and reentry populations.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule depending on needs.
- Willingness to travel to meetings and other offices as necessary. (Mileage reimbursed)
