Position Summary:

The Marketing and Communications Associate will work under the Sr. Director of Marketing and Communications and the Chief Development Officer to help address these strategic priorities:

  • Help unify the organization and elevate Caminar’s mission and visibility in the community
  • Position Caminar as a leader among competing behavioral health organizations seeking funding
  • Further Caminar’s position as a leading behavioral health care organization that delivers precision, evidence- based, and high-quality care for the most vulnerable residents in the Bay Area and Northern California
  • Establish Caminar as one of the top five behavioral health care organizations in the Bay Area

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: This role will own and drive the tactical component of the following activities:

  • Manage program marketing across all programs, including the creation and regular updating of agency and program fact sheets, collateral, forms, and other outreach materials and campaigns
  • Coordinate agency rebranding across all programs and departments, including the creation and/ or updating of collateral, forms, signage, documentation, and more
  • Ensure unified brand marketing and messaging across the entire agency in external communications and appearances
  • Create, proof, and send regular – and possible more frequent - agency and donor communications such as

Caminar Connections, our monthly e-Newsletter, including sourcing content from SMEs

  • Manage our website, which includes regular additions to RESOURCES, updates to WHO WE ARE and DOCUMENTATION, and other updates as needed
  • Manage social media platforms, including monthly editorial calendar, message alignment across the agency and programs, and metrics.
  • Regularly create new written and video client and staff stories, testimonials, and / or quotes and photographs

with proper media releases in coordination with client-facing staff

  • In partnership with our Director of Development, create event marketing campaigns including solicitation of media sponsorships, advertising, social media posts, etc., and track and report metrics
  • Maintain organized records of the yearly marketing calendar, marketing materials, metrics, results of campaigns, and meetings

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, or related fields with experience in marketing
  • Proven work experience in marketing, minimum two years of experience
  • Experience with CRM, web site management, social media, and email automation systems
  • Stellar recommendations
  • Excellent writing and communications skills
  • Outstanding people skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and also work independently with an enthusiastic can-do attitude and resourcefulness
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills
  • Candidate must have a working computer and internet connection, a phone connection, and other needed equipment to complete the assignments

Position Requirements:

  • Physical: Occasionally required to push/pull objects up to 50 lbs., and to lift/carry objects up to 25 lbs. Frequently required to perform moderately difficult manipulative tasks such as typing, writing, etc. Must be able to walk, stand, and sit for extended periods.
  • Sensory: Frequently required to read documents, written reports, and plans. Must be able to distinguish normal sounds with some background noise, as in answering the phone, interacting with residents and staff, etc. Must be able to speak clearly and understand/be understood using the English language.
  • Cognitive: Frequently required to concentrate on moderate detail with constant interruption. Must be able to attend to a task/function for 20-45 minutes at a time. Frequently required to understand and relate to specific ideas, several at a time. Must be able to remember multiple tasks/assignments given to self and others over a period of several days.
  • Environmental Conditions: Frequent exposure to varied office and mixed (residential/office) environments. Occasional exposure to toxins and poisonous substances, dust, and loud noises.
  • Equipment: Frequently required to use a computer, phone, and fax machine.

Essential Requirements:

  • Must be able to meet and receive a criminal records clearance, as required by Title XXII, other licensing regulations, and Caminar practices.
  • This position may require limited, occasional, or frequent driving. If required, a valid California driver license, a reliable personal vehicle, and current personal auto insurance is required by law. In addition, an MVR sufficient to obtain and maintain insurability under agency auto liability policies are all essential job requirements.
  • Must be able to pass post offer, pre-employment medical and drug tests as required under State Community Care Licensing regulations and/or agency policies.
  • If applicable, a personal cell phone with reliable service and a data plan to use for business purposes.
  • May be required to obtain and maintain First Aid and CPR certification.
