Base pay range

$42,000.00/yr - $54,000.00/yr

Solar Washington is seeking an Executive Director. The Executive Director plays a key role in activities to advance solar energy in Washington state. The position manages fiscal, operational, program development to ensure that Solar Washington delivers networking and educational opportunities to members and the general public. The Executive Director reports to the board of directors. This is a part-time remote position with flexible hours, for a person residing in Washington State. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Members and Sponsors: Manage members and sponsors, and prospect for new ones. 
  • Washington State Solar Summit: Collaborate with the Solar Summit Committee to arrange programming, logistics, sponsorships, marketing and sales for the annual Summit. 
  • Administration: Manage email, vendors, bookkeeping, inquiries and other tasks.  
  • Fundraising: Create and implement events and initiatives for fundraising and grants. 
  • Budget: Track expenses and income, and produce financial reports.  
  • Meetings and Programs: Organize Solar Washington meetings, events and webinars.
  • E-Newsletter and Website: Oversee the production and sending of the Solar Washington e-newsletter, and update and add content to the Solar Washington website.  
  • Webinars: Plan and organize webinars on topics relevant to the solar energy community.  
  • Social Media: Oversee the social media presence on LinkedIn and Facebook. 
  • Outreach: Organize board and volunteer presence at solar events. 
  • Reporting: Non-profit reporting to state and local agencies. 


Qualifications

  • 10 years’ experience working in non-profit organizations. 
  • Proficiency with spreadsheets, databases, word processing and QuickBooks. 
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work with minimal supervision. 
  • Solid written and oral communication skills, and excellent phone skills. 
  • Ability to develop effective work plans, organize details, set priorities and meet deadlines. 
  • Ability to work from home and to attend Solar Washington events. 
  • Interest in and commitment to Solar Washington’s mission.  
  • Familiarity with solar and the solar industry is a plus.
