The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.

Job Description

MSNBC is looking for an experienced Senior Producer to be responsible for creating, producing and supervising content for Morning Joe.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the production of the show’s non-linear entities, including newsletter, podcast, and YouTube content.
  • Pitch ideas for the morning broadcast and post-show non-linear content.
  • Supervise the team responsible for show non-linear imprints.
  • Work in control room as needed for live show coverage.
  • Write and produce segments.
  • Be involved in show’s planning process.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • At least 6 years of Editorial experience in a fast-paced newsroom environment, ability to anticipate and respond quickly to change.
  • Experience in story first journalism approach.
  • Experience developing producer talent.

Desired Qualifications

  • Possess ability to develop story ideas, research and plan segments.
  • Strong writing skills.
  • Sound journalistic judgment.
  • Knowledge of current events, politics and American history.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Must be willing to work in New York, NY.
  • Must be willing and able to work flexible hours, under tight deadline pressure, including breaking news.

Salary range: $125,000 - $180,000.
