The Children’s Developmental Center in Richland, WA, is hiring a Marketing and Communications Coordinator to implement marketing strategies and campaigns, fundraising events, and other marketing initiatives. In this role, you’ll collaborate with the Fundraising & Events Specialist and Development Manager to design compelling campaigns that drive donor engagement and craft engaging materials for social media, print, and web—such as program brochures, impact reports, and family testimonials.

The Children’s Developmental Center is a nonprofit that has served children with special needs since 1977. Our mission is to empower families and improve children’s lives through early intervention services, education, and therapeutic services.
We serve approximately 1,000 families and children each year through our three programs: Applied Behavior Analysis, Pediatric Pelvic Health Program, and Birth-3, which provides early intervention services through Occupational Therapy, Speech-Language Therapy, and Special Instruction. What does the position entail?
Marketing & Communications
- Collaborate with the development team to create and implement a comprehensive annual marketing plan that supports the organization’s fundraising goals.
- Support program fundraising to meet program needs and to create donor/grantor transparency. The plan should include specific dollar goals and strategies for each of the following areas: major and middle donor gifts, community gifts, monthly gifts, planned giving, lapsed donors, employee giving, and new donor acquisition
- Support fundraising events by helping to facilitate and promote smaller collaborations.
- Develop web-based donation campaigns and social media initiatives.
- Author advocacy letters, organizational publications, presentations, reports, and website content to effectively communicate the organization's mission and impact.
- Design print and digital materials, including but not limited to the annual report, program brochures, impact reports, fundraising Save the Dates and Invitations, the e-newsletter, and “Our Stories” web pages featuring testimonials.
- Oversee online communications, including website management and social media platforms, to ensure consistent and impactful messaging.
- Reporting on website and social media analytics.
- Create innovative digital/online fundraising strategies to implement throughout the giving year.
- Collaborate on grant and donor reporting to align program outcomes with grant requirements and maintain accountability.
- Collaborate with the Program Manager, Program Coordinator, Supervisors, and Therapists to analyze data and produce reports in the form of newsletters, blogs, or impact reports, donor updates, and end-of-year appeals
- Collaborate with program staff to develop engaging content for weekly social media posts.
