As Communications & Advocacy Manager, you excel at finding and telling compelling stories; you know how to get your stories out there and how to help others tell their own stories. You excel at leveraging stories to influence policy/lawmakers and you are enthusiastic about developing the leadership of faith leaders (clergy and lay) for systems change.
Key Responsibilities:
- Telling stories about faith communities taking action on clean energy and climate resilience across platforms (blog, newsletter, social)
- Updating websites and overseeing website development, including developing advocacy action pages (NationBuilder is the platform we use)
- Creating and supporting the creation of media (photo, video, narrative, graphic design)
- Leading our 501c3-compliant advocacy on federal and state level priorities
- Developing grasstops spokespeople for our issues and engaging grassroots participation in advocacy actions
What You’ll Bring:
- Outstanding storytelling skills
- Experience with Canva, updating websites, and social media platforms (especially Facebook and YouTube)
- Experience with nonpartisan lobbying and engaging with lawmakers
- Experience with media outreach is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to center justice and equity in your analysis and work
- Strong computer skills and ability to grasp new software and virtual platforms (critical to our ability to collaborate remotely)
Salary: $60,000-65,000, based on experience
Benefits:
- 3 weeks paid vacation (additional vacation earned with tenure), 5 days personal time, 12 paid holidays per year (including 4 floating holidays)

Location:
- While our day to day work is primarily remote, you must live in the metro Detroit area and attend in-person meetings and events several times a month.
- Some travel within and beyond Michigan may be required.
