Manager, Communications, U.S. Commercial Operations
What You Will Do
Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will report to the Director, Strategic Communications, US Business Operations, and will support internal and external communications efforts and initiatives for Amgen’s US Business Operations team. Your work will be vital in how Amgen’s US Business Operations shows up internally and externally to key audiences, and you will play a key role in galvanizing our talented and diverse workforce around our common mission to serve patients in a dynamic healthcare environment.
The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and technically proficient, ensuring seamless delivery of engaging content that connects with our US commercial business.
Key Responsibilities:
Communications & Creative:
- Write social posts, newsletter content, intranet content; work with other teams in corporate affairs to ensure consistency
- Help maintain and contribute to various USBO communications channels, including newsletters, internal website, slide presentations, and email communications
- Shoot and edit video and photo materials to be used on internal and external platforms. Staff productions and partner with internal Amgen colleagues on materials.
- Manage creative assets
- Maintain tools, templates, systems, libraries to create consistency of look and feel and ease of use of materials on behalf of USBO Comms team and partners
- Create/maintain toolkits to be utilized by USBO and TA areas as needed for consistency
Operations:
- Support execution of virtual and in-person staff engagement events
- Ensure that projects are on track, finished on time, measured and evaluated
- Communicate status, updates, and project summaries via presentations, email and direct communications with leadership and key partners
- Maintain and update calendars
- Understand latest methodologies and technologies to recommend optimal communication vehicles for intended audience
- Coordinate with business unit communications partners/colleagues on calendars for internal and social needs
Other:
- Event planning and coordinating
- Liaise with USBO senior executive assistants and other US business operations partners
- Staff executives for events when needed
What We Expect Of You

Basic Qualifications:
Doctorate degree
Or
Master’s degree and 2 years of experience in PR, communications or marketing
Or
Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of experience in PR, communications or marketing
Or
Associate’s degree and 8 years of experience in PR, communications or marketing
Or
High school diploma / GED and 10 years of experience in PR, communications or marketing
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, advertising, or a related field.
- 3-7 years of progressively responsible experience in PR, communications or marketing with 3 or more years of experience in staff engagement, culture building, event planning and/or internal communications
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills; ability to distill complex issues and information into simple, compelling and relevant messages
- Experience in development of creative content in various forms including video, written (long and short form), PowerPoint, website and social media assets
- Ability to interact with all levels of management and staff
- Ability to navigate a matrixed and dynamic environment and deal with rapidly changing priorities
- Excellent interpersonal skills; enthusiastic, team player and self-starter; serious commitment to hard work and excellence
- Demonstrated experience using AI tools

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
