Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Executive Director to join our team. This part-time role (estimated 15hrs/week) involves working independently or with staff and volunteers to support and enhance services for DeafBlind adults in Massachusetts. Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting outreach services and building relationships with agencies serving the DeafBlind community.
- Editing a quarterly newsletter and actively seeking contributions from the DeafBlind community.
- Promoting DBCC positively at events where we are a vendor.
- Contributing to event schedule planning, incorporating feedback from the DeafBlind community.
- Supervising and collaborating with staff, interns, and volunteers.
- Overseeing day-to-day operations.
- Acting as a liaison and preparing reports for MCB.
- Working closely with the Treasurer and Accountant on financial matters.
- Organizing DeafBlind volunteers for special projects.
- Developing and providing workshops to enrich the experiences of the DeafBlind community.
- Providing progress reports at Board and Executive Committee meetings.
Candidate Requirements:
· Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
· Knowledge and experience with DeafBlind culture and community.
· Fluency in sign language and ability to communicate in various modes used by the DeafBlind community.
· Good written communication skills.
· Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.
· Knowledge of accounting or financial management preferred (fundraising or grant writing experience is a plus).
Additional Information:
· Part-Time: 15 Hours per week, additional Two Saturdays per month.
