Your Community Radio Station is seeking a part-time Audio Editor/Producer. This position works up to 20 - 25 hours/week to produce promos, underwriting, and other KVNF content. Do you love audio and sound? This is a chance to learn more about community media and show off your skills in making it all sound good. Proficiency in written communication and computer skills is expected. Training will be provided for our special software. Previous audio editing experience a plus. A love of community radio is important! The range of hourly pay is $19.00 - $21.00/hour DOE with health stipend and generous paid time off.
Responsibilities
● Production and scheduling of all promotions, fundraising, and legal announcements in a timely manner:
- Promo material includes specific programs and fundraising drives
- Fundraising includes all aspects of income generating activities
- Legal matters include IDs, Board and CAB meetings
● Production of a public affairs program when interviews are available called Talkin’ Music
● Host remote broadcasts in coordination with Operations Manager when needed.
● Production of underwriting announcements in a timely manner.
● Production of short feature programs in coordination with staff and volunteers.
● Coordinate with the General Manager, and Operations person to manage the acquisition of programing content from outside sources such as Content Depot, PRX, Etc.
● Produce web posts, social media posts, and newsletter content.
● Participate in fundraising activities and events on-site and off-site.
● Participate in bi-monthly staff meetings, and meet with the GM one-on-one during off weeks.
● Engage in the community as a respectful representative of KVNF.
Qualifications
This position’s duties will be best executed with proficient computer skills with the following programs: Microsoft Excel, Word, Adobe Audition, and Gmail/Google Suite. Strong organizational skills, writing skills, and the ability to work independently are a key to this position’s success. Training will be provided but learning software is a critical requirement. Position requires a willingness to be flexible in the work schedule during certain times of the year.
