We are currently recruiting for a Compliance Specialist to join our team who values our agency's focus and organizational excellence. Duties and Responsibilities for Compliance Specialist: Manage and maintain affordable housing portfolio including tenant file reviews and audits. Track and approve certifications. Assures that managers appropriately input tenant certifications into property management software. Monitor WCMS data to assure it is input correctly on a monthly basis. Keep current on all updates and changes in affordable housing programs and requirements. Respond to compliance related questions from property management personnel. Assist with file audits to ensure compliance with regulatory agreements for each property. In conjunction with Asset Manager, duties include: Ensuring that all tax credit project first year tenant files are 100% in compliance. Ensuring that all tax-exempt bond project first year tenant files are 100% in compliance. Auditing and approving all paperwork for properties leasing, move-in and move-out, to ensure compliance with all regulations. In coordination with Asset Manager completes annual CHFA submissions and updates property utility allowances. Updates rent and utility schedules when annual rent and income limits are published. Coordinates with Business Support Manager to update Yardi with new limits. Assists in writing quarterly compliance newsletter The Candidate: High School diploma or equivalent is required; a college degree is preferred. Current compliance certification for tax credit preferred, or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire. 1 year of experience in property management, asset management, or with a housing regulatory organization or agency. Knowledge of low-income housing tax credit and other affordable housing programs. Experience with property management/compliance monitoring software preferred. Excellent math skills and a good command of oral and written communication methods and strong organizational skills. Valid drivers license and good driving record.
