The Georgia Technology Authority (GTA) currently manages the delivery of IT infrastructure services to 89 Executive Branch agencies and managed network services to more than 1,200 state and local government entities. IT infrastructure services encompass mainframes, servers, service desk, end user computing, disaster recovery and security. Managed network services include the state's wide and local area networks, voice, cable and wiring, and conferencing services.

Job Summary
Responsible for managing administrative tasks for Human Resources/Facilities department, assisting with recruitment, onboarding new employees, maintaining employee personnel records, processing payroll transactions, assisting with employee benefits, triage employee inquiries related to HR policies, employee letters, and procedures and handles procurement/purchasing for department. The HR Coordinator acts as a key point of contact for the department.
Responsibilities
Recruitment Support
- Coordinate interview schedules with candidates and hiring managers.
- Conduct reference checks and assist with pre-employment screenings.
- Manage and maintain accurate, organized records throughout the entire recruitment process, from initial engagement to onboarding.
Onboarding/Offboarding
- Create, review and verify personnel and position transactions within HR applications.
- Collaborate with the Communications & Marketing Office on agency-wide staff notifications.
- Assist with the onboarding process ensuring all necessary documentation is completed accurately and in a timely manner.
- Processes onboard/offboarding badge request for GTA employees and GTA contractors.
Employee Records Management
- Maintain and update employee personnel files, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal and organizational standards.
- Oversee the record management function including the maintenance, retention, transfer, and disposition of personnel files and records.
- Assist with the preparation and distribution of any and all employee letters, including employment verification and other HR-related correspondence.
- Maintains and updates monthly the Employee contractor Status Report.
Payroll Processing
- Maintains and processes the HR Payroll Actions Log/payroll transactions through the HCM system.
- Serves as a liaison to the payroll function.
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of payroll data, including new hires, terminations, and employee status changes.
Benefits Administration
- Assist with employee benefits inquiries, providing guidance on available programs and eligibility.
- Support the administration of employee benefits enrollment and changes.
Procurement/Purchasing
- Manage procurement and purchasing for the department, ensuring supplies and resources are maintained.
- Maintains Procurement & Contracts Spreadsheet for contract renewal for department.
- Track department budgets and work with vendors to ensure cost-effective purchasing.
- Reconcile monthly purchases as identified.
Employee Inquiries and Support
- Serve as the first point of contact for employees regarding HR policies, procedures, and inquiries.
- Triage and resolve HR-related inquiries in a professional and timely manner.
- Coordinates with internal departments on retirement requests.
- Maintains the agency recognition log for birthday-milestones, telework spreadsheet, quarterly DEI newsletter.
- Assist with page design & upload of org chart and other department related material.
- Serves as project lead for assigned committees.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
Core Competencies
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficient in HRIS, payroll systems (HCM/GA@Work), and onboarding platforms (NEOGOV).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization.
- Knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and compliance regulations.
- High level of discretion and confidentiality when handling sensitive employee information.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Agency Specific Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Seven (7) years of experience working in support roles for a Human Resources Office. OR bachelor's degree in education, human resources, business administration or related field and three (3) years of experience working in support roles for a Human Resources Office.
Note: An equivalent combination of education and job specific experience that provided the knowledge, experience and competencies required to successfully perform the job at the level listed may be substituted on a year-over-year basis.
Preferred Qualifications
(Preference will be given to candidates who, in addition to meeting the
qualifications listed, demonstrate some or all of the following skills/experience):
- Experience working in State Government (public sector) Human Resources environment.
- Proficient with State government enterprise systems (HCM, TGM, GA@Work).
- Experience working in Adobe Creative Suites, Canva, MS Viso

Compensation/Worker Type/Additional Details
Target Hiring Salary Range: *$53,100-$67,700
- Current Georgia state government employees will be subject to SPB rule provisions.
Worker Type: Hybrid - State of Georgia Remote Work Option
