Commercial Revenue Manager (ADM) (Hybrid)

Position Summary:
Advanced Digital Media, the fastest-growing news-media organization in Central Illinois, is seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Commercial Revenue Manager in its Springfield office to lead and grow revenue across multiple platforms, including a state radio network with 101 affiliate stations, a subscription-based live-streaming site catering to an influential audience, and the state’s premier government-accountability newsletter. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a proven track record in media sales, advertising, and subscription-based business models, who can drive significant revenue growth by cultivating relationships, innovating sales strategies, and delivering exceptional value to clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Revenue Growth and Sales Strategy:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive revenue strategy to maximize advertising sales across the state radio network, the live-streaming platform, and the newsletter.
- Identify and cultivate new revenue opportunities through creative advertising solutions and partnership packages tailored to clients' needs.
- Set and achieve ambitious revenue targets by managing and expanding the pipeline of prospective advertisers and sponsors.
Client Relationship Management:
- Build and nurture relationships with key decision-makers, including advertisers, sponsors, government officials, lobbyists, and trade associations.
- Serve as the primary contact for high-profile clients, ensuring consistent communication and outstanding client satisfaction.
- Provide consultative sales support to help clients achieve their objectives using our platform's unique offerings.
Collaboration and Leadership:
- Work closely with content, marketing, and product teams to align revenue strategies with audience engagement and platform growth goals.
- Collaborate with the production and editorial teams to create compelling advertising products, including sponsored content, pre-roll audio, and video ads.
- Provide feedback on audience trends, advertiser demands, and emerging revenue opportunities.
Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
- Track and analyze sales performance metrics to measure effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
- Prepare and present regular revenue reports to the leadership team, detailing progress, challenges, and strategic adjustments.
Market Insights and Innovation:
- Stay updated on trends in media sales, digital advertising, and subscription services, and apply those insights to refine strategies.
- Innovate advertising packages that leverage cross-platform opportunities to offer unique value to advertisers.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in media sales, advertising, or a related revenue-focused role, with a demonstrated ability to exceed revenue targets.
- Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of the media landscape, including radio, digital platforms, and newsletters. Familiarity with government, trade associations, and lobbying sectors is a strong plus.
