Communications and Content Coordinator
Position Summary
The College of Nursing is hiring a Communications and Content Coordinator to assist with content creation and distribution across our various channels. This individual will be creative and show self-initiative, have experience in journalistic storytelling, and be social media savvy. The ideal candidate must be collaborative and be able to juggle several tasks simultaneously. This position is a hybrid role, allowing for some work to be done remotely and other work on site.
Position Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To
- Identify and produce attention-grabbing content, both written and visual, for, but not limited to, internal and external newsletters, as well as print magazine and social media
- Serve as social media lead for college, including content creation, monitoring and analysis
- Participate or lead marketing-communications intake meetings with clients
- Design and distribute internal and external newsletters
- Review newsletter performance and offer recommendations
- Manage distribution lists in e-marketing tools
- Coordinate giveaway purchases and requests in college for events and recruitment
- Make updates to College of Nursing website pages
- Set up and monitor paid social media and SEO campaigns, under director’s supervision
- Occasional event coverage
- Maintain employee directory on college website
- Implement university and college brand standards in all materials

Minimum Requirements
Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in Communications, Telecommunications, Journalism, Marketing, or Public Relations; up to six months of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in internal communications; news, broadcasting, and print media, and/or marketing, advertising, and creative services; graphic design; word processing; desktop publishing; web design; presentation software; spreadsheet and/or database software; public presentation; or radio production; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Desired Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, journalism, communications or public relations. A minimum of two years of experience in marketing and communications, preferably in higher education and/or health care. Proven experience working with various communications and marketing tools, including Adobe products (Photoshop, Premiere Pro, etc.), Canva, Cision, Concrete 5, Facebook Business, Instagram, LinkedIn, Mailchimp, Microsoft products (including SharePoint), Sitecore, Sprout Social, TikTok, YouTube, X and more. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex information for a wide range of audiences. Strong public speaking and presentation skills would be a plus. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines. Ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment, with a proactive approach to identifying new opportunities and adapting to changing needs.
