Role Description

This is an Marketing Communications internship role for The Cultura Media with some remote work allowed. The Marketing Communications Intern will provide support for day-to-day activities including communication, handling administrative tasks, and assisting with communication related tasks.

Ideal Candidate:

Passionate about advocating for the Latinx community using communications to relay information to a diverse range of audiences.
Deep understanding of community challenges in the Latinx communities and communities of color, with fluency in both communities.
Required to possess strong writing and speaking skills in both English and Spanish.
Genuine curiosity, eager to learn new concepts, and able to translate information into clear copy, infographics, or video clips.
Ability to translate English and Spanish quickly in a fast-paced environment.
Detail-oriented with a keen eye for design, aesthetics, and innovation.
Dynamic, "make it happen" attitude, driven by high performance.

Job Description:

Email & Correspondence: Manage general email inboxes, respond to inquiries, and filter relevant information to appropriate team members. Draft professional emails and memos on behalf of the team.

Document Management: Organize and maintain files (both physical and digital), ensuring easy access and retrieval of information. Proofread and edit documents for accuracy and clarity.

Research Support: Conduct research for ongoing projects, compile data, and create summaries or reports for the team's use.

Executive Support: Provide comprehensive administrative support to the Editor-in-Chief and CEO, managing calendars, emails, and communications.

Print & Digital Outreach: Coordinate the mailing of print magazines to subscribers.

Contact Management: Organize and maintain a comprehensive database of contacts (subscribers, partners, etc.).

Input and update contact data accurately and efficiently.
Utilize contact information for targeted email marketing and business development initiatives.

Content Creation: Pitch and produce copy for a variety of media (print, digital marketing, social).

Craft engaging headlines, calls to action, and content that resonate with our audience.

Additional Responsibilities: Assist with newsletter creation, design, and analytics.

Support the graphic design team in organizing magazine content.
Update website copy as needed.
Help improve internal processes to expand organizational reach.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master’s degree in advertising, marketing, journalism, public relations, communications, or related field.

Bilingual in English and Spanish with excellent writing skills in both languages.

Experience writing copy/articles in AP format and compatible with SEO.
Familiarity with website content management (WordPress preferred).
Comfortable working with Canva and Mailchimp.
Ability to collaborate effectively and multitask.

Employment Commitment & Compensation:

10-20 hours of per week. This position is a 15 week internship and offers a $750 stipend commensurate with experience and may offer college credit opportunities.
