Summary:

The Springfield Symphony Orchestra (SSO) is seeking a dynamic and creative Marketing

Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and

managing social media content, creating and distributing newsletters via Constant Contact, and

coordinating with external graphic design vendors. This role is crucial in enhancing our online

presence, engaging with our community, and promoting our concerts and events.

Key Responsibilities:

Social Media Content Creation and Management

Strategy Development:

- Develop a comprehensive social media strategy that aligns with the SSO’s overall marketing

goals and objectives.

- Conduct research to identify social media trends and audience preferences to inform content

planning.

- Create a social media calendar that outlines content themes, key dates, and campaigns.

Content Creation:

- Generate engaging and high-quality content including text, images, videos, and infographics

tailored for each social media platform (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.).

- Collaborate with musicians, staff, and stakeholders to create behind-the-scenes content that

showcases the SSO’s activities and personalities.

- Write compelling captions and calls-to-action to drive audience engagement and

participation.

Community Management:

- Monitor social media channels daily for comments, messages, and mentions.

- Respond to inquiries and engage with followers in a timely and professional manner.

- Foster a positive community by addressing feedback, managing discussions, and encouraging

user-generated content.

Analytics and Reporting:

- Track and analyze social media metrics using tools like Facebook Insights, Twitter Analytics,

and Instagram Insights.

- Prepare monthly reports on social media performance, highlighting key metrics, trends, and

areas for improvement.

- Adjust strategies based on data-driven insights to enhance engagement and reach.

Newsletter Creation and Management

Content Development:

- Plan and write engaging and informative newsletter content that highlights upcoming

concerts, events, news, and special announcements.

- Gather content from various departments, ensuring a diverse and well-rounded newsletter.

Design and Layout:

- Use Constant Contact to design visually appealing and professional newsletters.

- Ensure newsletters are mobile-friendly and adhere to SSO’s brand guidelines.

- Incorporate multimedia elements like images, videos, and links to enhance the reader

experience.

- Ensure all sponsor recognition is approved and included.

List Management and Segmentation:

- Maintain and update the email subscriber list, ensuring data accuracy and compliance with

privacy regulations.

- Segment the email list based on demographics, interests, and past engagement to tailor

content and increase relevance.

Performance Analysis:

- Monitor the performance of email campaigns, tracking open rates, click-through rates, and

conversions.

- Provide regular reports on email marketing performance and suggest improvements based

on data insights.

Coordination with External Graphic Design Vendors

Vendor Management:

- Act as the primary point of contact for external graphic design vendors and digital advertising

vendor, fostering strong working relationships.

- Communicate project requirements, timelines, and expectations clearly and effectively.

Project Coordination:

- Coordinate the production of marketing materials, including posters, flyers, brochures, and

digital assets.

- Ensure all materials are consistent with SSO’s brand identity and meet high standards of

quality.

- Review and provide feedback on design drafts, ensuring accuracy and alignment with project

goals.

Timeline and Budget Management:

- Develop and manage project timelines, ensuring deliverables are completed on schedule.

- Track project budgets and expenses, ensuring projects are completed within budget

constraints.

- Resolve any issues or challenges that arise during the design process, maintaining open

communication with vendors and internal stakeholders.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.

- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a marketing role, preferably within the arts or non-profit

sector.

- Proven experience in managing social media platforms and campaigns.

- Proficiency in using Constant Contact or similar email marketing tools.

- Proficiency in using Meta and other social media management platforms

- Strong project management skills and attention to detail.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Familiarity with graphic design principles and experience working with designers.

Preferred Skills:

- Experience with analytics tools such as Google Analytics.

- Basic knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).

- Passion for classical music and the performing arts.
