Our client is looking for a freelance writer to craft and publish various types of pieces for our daily local email newsletter. As an email newsletter writer, you should be able to perform thorough research on various topics and have a keen eye for detail. Ultimately, you should be able to deliver good quality content like news posts, reviews, and features. Responsibilities

Assemble short, snappy stories daily
Perform research on different topics
Write content with readers' needs in mind
Ensure your pieces are accurate and objective
Establish contacts and sources to use in future research
Maintain notes in written or electronic form
Contribute to content idea generation for publication
Prepare well-structured drafts using digital publishing platforms
Edit and proofread written pieces before publication
Stay up-to-date with the latest current events in the "beat" by studying papers, attending events, etc

Requirements

Proven work experience as a Staff Writer, Content Creator, Copywriter, or similar role
Portfolio of published articles
Hands-on experience with email newsletter software (e.g. Beehiiv)
Excellent writing and editing skills in English
Ability to follow strict deadlines and fact-check information
Computer proficiency (MS Office, Google Workspace, digital editing, web search and databases)
Excellent communication, lobbying, and active listening skills
