Position Summary:

PVF is seeking a Program and Communications Associate to join our team! The position’s primary responsibilities will be to support our organization’s day-to-day activities with administrative assistance, and will also provide other program and communications support as needed.

The ideal candidate will be experienced in handling a wide range of administrative tasks and must be highly organized, reliable, and detail oriented. They will be able to work independently, effectively managing shifting priorities and time-sensitive projects to meet deadlines, while also being flexible to work collaboratively with the staff as needed.

This is a full-time in-person position Monday-Friday from 8:30am-5pm. The position provides an excellent opportunity to gain experience in non-profit accounting, program, development and communications roles. The Program and Communications Associate reports to the Chief Operating Officer.

Job Responsibilities:

The position has responsibilities in three primary areas: administrative support; program support; and communications support.

Administrative Support

• Process donation checks and generate donor gift letters, as needed

• Assist with data entry and record keeping; spreadsheets, program reports to donors

• Assist with document retrieval for yearly independent audit, and for quarterly board packets

• Assist with organizing and maintaining both physical and electronic files

• Support COO with execution of contracts and other special projects

Program Support

• Manage 1-2 small teacher grant programs individually

• Assist program staff with all regular grants processing, mailings and filing

• Support program staff with their grant programs during periods of high demand or absences

Communications Support

• Write weekly blog posts and assist with monthly newsletter, as needed

• Create the yearly Annual Report

• Update the website and communications materials, as needed

Qualifications:

• Excellent time management skills, with a proven ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks independently

• Highly organized with a close attention to detail and creative problem-solving skills

• Strong Microsoft Word & Excel skills and computer/internet savvy

• Excellent project management skills with an ability to quickly learn and understand new processes

• High level of flexibility and responsiveness

• Committed to continuous learning and improvement; takes initiative to solve problems

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Experience with Wordpress websites, Constant Contact, and Canva is a plus

• Nonprofit experience is not required, but is a plus

Compensation and Benefits:

$25-$27/hour depending on experience plus benefits after an introductory period including a health insurance stipend; a 10% 401(k) match; paid time off; sick time; and 12 paid holidays.
