Salary: 20'000 to 30'000 USD (depending on experience and availability)

We are looking for a Global Communications Officer to assist the IPC Secretary General with internal and external communications, create content and drive the IPC agenda forward. This role involves engaging with a variety of stakeholders to develop, design and circulate a variety of communications materials based on effective communications strategies. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a thriving global food sector and working across a range of projects including poultry production, responsible use of antibiotics, animal welfare, international trade in food, and managing public perception.

Key missions

Manage and support the Communications Working Group in planning, developing and implementing communication strategies
Create engaging and compelling content for IPC members and poultry stakeholders on a variety of issues to promote the global poultry sector’s messages
Support the Secretary General with inquiries from the media, members and other organizations
Produce the IPC newsletter as well as collateral communications materials such as reports, infographics and brochures
Manage the IPC website and the members’ community platform
Manage the organization’s social media presence

Skills & Experience

Fluency in English
Excellent communication, interpersonal and writing skills
Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask
Evidence of ability to grasp complex issues and engage with these effectively through research
Experience of using content management systems and social media
Experience of communicating abstract scientific concepts to non-scientific audiences
Prior experience in communications in the food and farming sector or a similar sector would be an asset
Experience of managing stakeholders perception issues on complex issues in areas such as food safety, use of antibiotics in animal production, sustainability and animal welfare
